Taiwan Now Visa Free For Filipinos Starting November 1, 2017

Starting November 1 2017, Filipinos will be allowed to enter Taiwan Visa Free on a trial basis until July 31, 2018. The said visa free policy will allow Filipinos to enter Taiwan specially for tourism for up to 14 days at a time, annouced by the Taipei Economic and Cultural office (TECO) in the Philippines.

Filipino citizens are able to avail of this privilege under these qualifications.

  1. a regular passport with remaining validity of at least 6 months from the date of entry (diplomatic and official passport holders are not eligible for visa-free treatment)
  2. a return ticket or a ticket for the traveler’s next destination and a visa for that destination if required
  3. no criminal record in Taiwan
  4. proof of accommodations (such as hotel booking) or host/sponsor’s contact information or arrangements of tour, travel, visit, events, meetings, etc

Visitors who are intending to stay beyond 14 days however, are still required to apply for a visa be it for any reason.

After these announcement Taiwan is hoping for reciprocity from the Philippine government in allowing Taipei Nationals to enter the country under the same provisions.
